Title: rear window trim
Post by: waldo786 on July 24, 2013, 03:00:53 PM
Hello again all, I'm dismembering my car to get it ready for paint and wasn't sure how the chrome trim under the rear windows is attached.  Does it use clips like under the windows on the doors, or are there nuts like the ones that hold the hood chrome on?  I tried prying it off, but it seems very hard and I don't want to damage anything.  Thanks!

I believe there are clips and nuts.  Have you removed the rear plastic cargo panels?  I believe once they are removed you should be able to see the nuts.

As I suspected, thanks for the tips and the picture.  I want to repaint my plastic anyway, so out that'll have to come too.  Thanks again!

Thank you all, I was able to remove all the plastic trim, which I did want to paint anway.   So I got that out and unbolted the trim.  A lot of work to get that off lol.  And very messy too, my car was undercoated so inside it was full of tar.  Got them both off and one more step closer to paint.  I did paint a rear Pinto trim logo and it turned out real nice.  Glad to finally get at least one very small part done.
