So, let me start this off with I'm a pinto noob. Always loved them, and always wanted a wagon. I got GIVEN a pinto about two months ago. It used to be a wagon, and was converted to a ranchero (which is where my name on here came from). Basic specs are a fresh 2000 ( no wear on the cam) with full length header, Lynx aluminum intake, side draft weber carb, dual points dizzy, c-3 auto (which is getting swapped to a 5 speed). It also has a 77-78 nose clip. I know that the wiring under the hood is in need of desperate repair, and that's on the list. My first concern is that once I start it, the key has to be just slightly up from engaging the starter for it to stay running. If it rocks up to the "normal" run position the engine shuts off. I'm currently using a set of round jaw vise grips to hold the tumbler in place so the car stays running. I'm not new to cars, just new to a few things. This is one of them. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanx,
Nik
