Title: Radiator Replacement
Post by: John Turner on March 06, 2013, 09:43:23 AM
I have a 72 Pinto Wagon, Automatic, 2000 cc.  I need to replace the radiator and am hoping that I can find an exact replacement.  Can anyone tell me where I can go to find one?  thanks, jt

Have you tried Autozone, ORileys, or Rock Auto?

The three I gave you previously seem to not carry that radiator anymore. I did a search and found good ole J.C. Whitney sources them along with a company called Spectra and there are a few more on EBay Motors. Good Luck

I just got one last year. It's for '74-up so I'm not sure if all the holes line up. Are upper & lower hoses in the same locations between 2.3L & 2.0L?

If you can not get a replacement to yours, go to any good radiator shop and have it recored....If it's a brass one no problem.....Ye s it will work and not leak...

i had this done to mine way back in the the middle 70's.  i had a shop order a brass 3 row core, the guys (my cousin 7 his dad) made new tanks top & bottom and in one day I had a radiator that would cool anything.

nowadays it might be a stretch to find someone who will do it.

those guys who will do it are a find and usually the kind of guys who take a lot of pride in their work and, while expensive, it will be worth the money.
