Title: Radiator Cap Leak

I noticed this today and I've never it seen it spew coolant before. Is there supposed to be a hose connected to this or something? Or is it normal?

Blow off of coolant when motor overheats or the cap gets weak and bypasses too easy. You run a rubber hose from it to a coolant recovery tank like most cars in the seventies used. Not a sealed pressurized tank like now, just a simple plastic tank. Run the tube with a bit extra to loop in bottom of tank a bit, and fill the tank maybe 1/3 or so that the end of hose in it is well submerged. That way any mild leakage goes into tank, when motor cools and water contracts it will self zoop the coolant right back into motor. Saves on coolant cost. You can find the plastic tank at any parts store.

Normally no, you are not supposed to have great amount of fluid coming out of it. If car positively not overheating you need a new rad cap.
