pvc valve relocation
« on: June 25, 2014, 11:04:53 AM »
Ok I've finally put my "new" cannon intake on my 2.3. however there is no connection for my pvc hose. Can I run it to a breather on the valve cover to the oil vapor separator?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

No, a PCV valve needs to be connected to a vacuum source, should be a spot at the carb base I would think???..

Yes it can, you could also run your vacuum advance off that same fitting.. Looks like there's a fitting on there now?.

Great! Thank you!  That fitting is too small but have one that will do the trick

PCV entry should be in a PLENUM not individual runner, they always pass a bit of oil mist and not dispersing that to ALL cylinders can result in one plug oiling out pretty quick. Needs to be there as well for the straight air being mixed closer to equal in all cylinders, put it in only one and you can burn a piston from being too lean in that cylinder...... .not the way to do it............ ..

Hmmm, good point that escaped me there, spacer under the carb would be the way to go, unless there's a spot to drill and tap for it??..
