I left there a long time ago. They used to do an inspection on the car also, and every single place you brought a car to would come up with something different to charge you for. This was in the Allentown/Quakertown area. Maybe it's changed now...

I have a 77 wagon and in ca it had to be put on a treadmill plus gas cap pressure test. These cars Dermot designed to pass these types of tests. MINE passes but 1 year it flunked the fuel pressure test on the fuel tank.had to have a shop put smoke into the tank under pressure and it had a small hairline crack in one of the 3 lines under drivers side area replaced small section and it passed smog.I now have historical vehicle plates on it no more smog checks yeah ;D  chris

Problem with Classic/Historical plates is the amount you can drive them. I don't like being inhibited with that to be honest. If you could get those without limitations, I would :D

I have had them on my car over 1 year now no problems with being stopped. I'm always on my way to a club meeting/car show etc. chris

Understood, and hence a limitation of car shows and so on. I'd rather just have regular plates and no limitations on mine :)
