My 78wagon has had a ps fluid l;eak for a while now.I had the pressure hose replaced then they said it was the o rings and got new ones put in didnt charge again at least.

 Still leaked took it somewhere else they said its the return hose clamp tightened it should be ok. Still leaked.Stoplea k seemed to slow it down but theres a big puddle under the car after I shut it down.

 Today I looked it over real good myself and what I see is fluid allover the mounting bracket arm that runs under the reservoir, and all under is wet. So I think its either got a crack in the bottom area of the reservoir or its the seal where the return hose goes into the reservoir.

 Does anyone know the procedure for replacing that seal and the return hose?


 I wonder too if the reservoir couldve got cracked or busted from when I had someone tighten the belts. Might just have to buy a belt jack especially if I get a plastic reserrvoir.

Ibelieve its more likely from the reservoir as it will  empty itself just sitting.

If it is the metal reservoir, it is just an o-ring.  Just undo the nut around the hose fitting and slide it off.  I resealed a pump on my grandfathers 72 Econoline years ago.  It was pretty simple.  Just do not damage the reservoir.  If you have the plastic style I do not know as I have not had to do one yet.
