the guy must be deaf or something because he removed the speakers and covered up the holes so i have no idea where any of the speakers are and what size i figured i could put some 6.5 kenwoods in there i have for i figured doors and then read pannels in the coupe but idk where they go....

stock pintos only had a single speaker in the center/top of the dash...
some with a stereo radio had small speakers mounted in the doors front/lower corner in the door panel area....

there is no "factory" location for your 6.5's it's all custom location and drill/cut

do you have a trunk or hatchback?

I saw some installed in the lower door panel area. I put mine behind the kickpanels. It sounds pretty good to me and at plenty enough volume. My rear speakers are little bookshelf type speakers theyre just sitting in the floor in behind the front seats. Eventually I guess I should put them somewhere more permanent and out of the way.

My '80 Runabout had 3 1/2" round speakers in both doors behind factory grilles & at the rear with factory grilles though I'm missing one grille.

My '76 wagon only had a dash speaker but I had a pair of kick panels with 4" speakers someone installed in them so I used em with an old Sony cassette radio for now.

Bottom front of the door has plenty of room. I'm going to experiment on my rusty '80 doors to see what I can fit before I pull the tracks. I want at least a 6 1/2" mid-bass in a sealed enclosure so I may need to get creative on the box shape to get the air space needed but I think it can be done easily.

I have 6.5s mounted in the doors.I did have to move the lower window rail mount because I didn't want to mount them any further back twards the seat.I also have spacers that are angled so the speakers aim at driv and pass. The biggest problem with 6.5s is they are very close to the window crank, and you tend to hit your fingers on the speaker.

Oh, how nice to have the "factory" door speakers. All I gotta do is replace them for some that work better than 32 yr old units. As for the rears I dunno what I'm gonna do.

I thought all Pnto Stereo Radio's and Tape Decks only used the two front door speakers. I have never seen any literature that indicated Pinto's came with 4 speaker radios.  Of course I think on the sedans you could get a dealer installed speaker for the AM and AM/FM mono radios only.  My 78 Cruisng Wagon came with AM/FM Stereo  and only has front door mounted speakers.

Well I know my car has only two front speakers but the original radio is long long gone. The Sony stereo that was in there was wired for two speaker use, as is the Kraco I temporarily installed & the Clarion that will prolly be going in the car. I'm just gonna wire them up for four speakers since they have the option.

I have only heard of either the center dash speaker being used, or the two door speakers fromt he factory.
However the later 70's sedans DO have nicely cut 6x9 openings and mounting holes there already.  Too bad they never used them...
