pinto v8 swap?
« on: August 08, 2015, 12:21:06 PM »
Hi all,
The previous owner swapped motors in my pinto wagon with a 351. The motor sits real high in the front due to no clearance where the steering shaft passes under the oil pan, It's actually riding on the pan, bellhousing rattles on firewall, ect. Any ideas on how to lower the steering ? Thank's, Moonshine

your best option may be to modify the pan.

If you lower the steering rack you will open up a BIG bucket of worms. The bump steer will go to wilder front end alinement and make the car handle like a Vega.
Its better to be a has-been, than a never was.
