its uses plan old black moly grease , the same stuff you use in the front wheel bearings , unless you have a power rack , which uses the fluld from the pump, I have taken rack apart to clean them when the end boots come apart with age , dirt gets in , wears out the tie rod end and later the rack itself , they are suppose to be lubed for life , but if you are taking one apart to clean out sand or dirt from busted boots make sure you put the shims in the same place you remove them or you will get slack or a binding one , hand wipe grease on all moving parts , that should do it and keep it clean , dirt mixed with grease wear things out faster than you think ,
