Pinto Pwr Steering Hoses to T-bird Rack Question
« on: December 12, 2022, 08:25:27 PM »
My Speedway front end kit came with a T-bird Steering Rack.  The rack came with o-ring to 6AN flare adapters for the pressure and return lines.  My new, Pinto power steering hoses are inverted flare at the rack end.  Does anyone know if there is an adapter fitting that will connect the inverted flare end of the Pinto hose to the 6AM flare fitting at the rack?  Can the inverted flare be cut off and the ends of the Pinto hoses be flared and 6AM flare nuts be used?  I don't want to buy new hoses or power steering pump.  Any advice will be appreciated...

I know Parker makes just about everything for hydraulics.  I did a quick scan here but didn't find an inverted flare: https://ph.parker.com/us/en/adapters
'79 Pinto auto hatch back with an '80 2.3L and 4 speed transplant.  A 2.3 Turbo and T5 are waiting for the next transplant.

Plans changed, going V8 with TKX!

My neighbor just retired from many years of running a hydraulic repair shop.  I'm going to show him what I have and he'll be able to guide me.  He sold his business to a local lawn mower shop so hopefully he trained them well when he did his mandatory "stay on board until they are trained" mission!
