Pinto blue valve cover paint
« on: March 25, 2018, 06:26:10 PM »
Hello all i will soon be assembling my new engine and have started to paint the sheetmetal parts.. I recall awhile back a discussion about the proper blue to match the oem ford paint..

I found a color awbile back when doing some touchup that exactly matches the factory paint..

The cam cover on my 73 has fa tory paint and when touched up with this color, you cannot see the difference. When first applied it appears a bit pale, but after being run for a week or to the oil and heat age it until it matches perfectly.

The paint is "ColorPlace 20001812 Royal Blue" sold at walmart, sometimez in the stores and online if not.  It is currently $2.41 online with free shipping to store.

Here are some pix of the can.
