74 steering column into a 79?

Hmm, maybe there should be a new subforum for me and my stupid questions.

Anyway, I was just thinking. The 79 is coming with a tilt 89 Mustang column. It's all mechanically connected and works but no electrical.  I would not be keeping the Mustang steering wheel anyway. 

But since I have the 74 column I was just wondering if need be could I put the 74 in to the 79? I most likely will need a tilt, but I want to know my options just in case.
