Pinto bellhousings

Need some help. Trying to find the height  or depth of the Pinto 4  speed bellhousings. Are they shorter then the Mustang 11 bellhousings. Also is there a difference in the bellhousing depths  for the diff 4 speed transmission   that Ford installed . Thanks.

What motor/trans set up do you have and what are you trying to accomplish? A straight across transplant or auto to 4/5 spd or visa versa?

Putting in a Jerico 4 speed DR4 for drag racing. Has a 6.4 depth . The T5 bellhousings I have is 7.5 deep.  Also is there a differences in the flywheel teeth count between the pinto and 87 up Mustangs.  The late Mustangs I think is 132 teeth manual flywheel. I thought they were thinner also then the Pintos and Mustang 11 2.3 units .  Thanks.

Sorry I do not have manual 2.3 Pinto bells to measure.

If this is a turbo application, using the V8 clutch should improve reliability with the high torques.  I have a 1966 289 V8 bell which measures 6-1/4" deep (do not know if the fox 5.0 bell depth is the same).  With a 3/8" thick adapter plate (linked below) gives you 6-5/8" total depth which may be close enough.  The 1966 came with either a B&W 4spd or a Ford top loader 4spd.  From looking at the Jerico site, that transmission appears to be based on the Ford top loader with its bolt pattern so it may be a bolt up.  As usual, you need to verify info for accuracy/applicability and suggest contacting Jerico for input.

The Pinto, Mustang II and fox body 2.3 bellhousing I checked were all the same depth.
