Can someone identify this part? It is in a bundle of wires that run along the fire wall and end above the master cylinder. I have checked my books and can't find a picture. Thanks

if she has a manual trans it could be the backup light switch , if it had more wires on it it would be an auto trans , but since it is unpluged the starter would not work , (unless it was bypassed )  way to check is to put the car in reverse and turn the key one and see if the backup lites work , if they do she might have A/C  and some had a kicker that speed up the engine when you turned on the A/C , most over the years have disepered 

Ok then it has to be kicker , it's for when you turn on the A/C it speeds up the engine (or keeps it from dying) a tad , you have to use a volt meter to test it to find out , when the A/C clutch is engaged you should have voltage on one of the wires , been years since I have seen one , the newer ones used vacuum to do the same thing , hope this helps , Later   Blane in Mississippi 😇
