Absolutely no one has a listing for a gasket that goes between the oil pump and the pickup tube for a 2.3. Not oreillys, not autozone, not rockauto. I need one for my engine to put the pinto pickup tube on my mustang engine. The only way to get it so far is to buy a new oil pump or buy a complete gasket set - which i dont need. Can I just use black silicon sealer or what?

By any chance did you try your local Ford Dealer?
-
Not yet. I read online somewhere tho that ford discontinued them a long time ago..

If it's just a plain gasket should be able to make one?..
-
I just used hi temp silicone on mine just make sure ya don't glob it on so it doesn't go inside the tube.

I have not used anything in years, surfaces are machined well. Although you could do as Timmay suggested. Fred :)

I got one with a new old pump. You might want to put a new pump in if you do not know how old pump is but do not get a high volume one.

Gasket paper is the next best thing

Getting on here late, The Ford Dealer may say its obsolete but can do a nationwide parts search. I needed a "C" clip for a front hub bearing for a 1996 Mercury Villager and none were available in AZ but a dealer in TX had 6.

The Ford number is D4FZ6626A. They are available at several dealers in old stock parts. Heck, Green Sales shows 62 in stock.
