Since the title of this thread says 302 that's the wrong pan. As Beaner said, that's for the Cleveland engines & the 302 is a Windsor.

The pan you need to find will have a sharp drop to the sump. This is so you can have the engine as far back & down as you can , yet clear the rack : regardless of year of car.

Lots look for the Mll pans (I may have one. It was really rusty so no part numbers were on it. I blasted it - no leaks - and painted it to preserve it , in case someone would need it one day. Was/is supposed to be an Mll pan)

This is the one I use: http://www.milodon.com/oil-pans/street-oil-pans-ford73.asp
If ordered, make sure you look over all the other parts that need to go with it: pan bolts, pick up, windage tray etc.
Expensive for most folks, but worth it in my opinion.

I saw that was for 351 after I posted my question. I tried the one from milodon and it did not fit between the engine and crossmember. I have a running 1975 302 in the 79 Pinto now, I am rebuilding a 93 cobra engine I want to install with a new pan but it's looking like I am going to have to use the old pan off the 75 engine.

Weird it didn't work.
Things that different from 72s ?

If it's the pan in my last post, and you are not going to use it, shoot me a PM with a price.
Keep in mind the CDN dollar is at .90 to yours.....

That pan should fit. It's been used on 74-up cars to death. Something else is the issue.

The pan is too deep it rest on top of crossmember, everything else looked good as it did clear the steering rack.

The mounts are too low. It should sit at least 1/2" above it.

It works fine if you can get one cheap. Most people want waaaay too much for a nice one.

I have what is supposed to be an Mll pan. Came on the Ugly Yellow car. Also motor mounts & frame mounts.
Never looked to see if there are any part numbers. Yet.
I know there will be no part numbers on the pan. It was rusty. Rust under several layers of paint.
I sand blasted the pan - no holes - and painted it to protect it.

I'll never use them.....

I'll make a note to self to check for numbers on the mounts tomorrow.
