odd behavior

 here is my problem.

 wife asked me to time the pinto.  ('73 squire wagon) 2.0 engine,4 speed, progressive weber, etc.

 I went out checked the points gap, changed the plugs and........... .

 now i have smoke pouring out of the tail pipe, after about a min of running, ALL 4 holes are fouling the plugs. pulled them and all are dripping with oil. (went from 4 good tan plugs to goopy dripping nasty)

 checked to see the the timing belt had jumped a tooth and all appears to be good. 

 Not a head gasket (oil and water are clean)  it's just dumping oil into the combustion chamber.

 I am at a loss as to what happened. It ran fine but, timing may have been off a bit.

not diesel fuel.  I just have no idea what may have caused this.

 I NEED ideas as to what the he#* happened!!!

   plz help

I'm thinking PCV but I'm not a 2.0 expert. There's a few guys on here that should know.

I would take a look at the PCV valve like Pinto5.0 said but I would recommend doing a compression test. That will tell you the condition of the rings & if they could be bad. I know you said it wasn't acting up before but anything is possible.
 
Also, what color is the smoke? How many miles are on the car? Has the engine ever had major work done that you know of?

I would agree on the comp. test but......... all 4 holes all at once?

smoke is gray/black. and, I have oily tail pipe now.

will certainly test the pcv.

Try plugging the PCV line where it goes to the carb or intake(not sure where yours connects) & see if you still zoop oil into the engine when it runs. You're still gonna have some residual oil burning till it's all cleared out but this will tell you if that's the source of the oil.

went out yesterday to check pcv. found a cheap plastic 1.
it was broken and, wide open. fished the pieces out with a magnet.

 Question...... .... I could see if it were clogged shut causing a vacum problem but, being wide open,how could this cause oil to get into the combustion chambers?

 bought a new metal one. I am hoping this will help.

 Still fishin' for ideas!!!!

I wish I had a good answer for you but I have seen screwed up PCV systems do some wacky things over the years.

zoop has been going in place of s-u-c-k for years. Nobody has been able to fix it for one reason or another.

Back on track... If the valve is damaged who knows what it will do. Now you said the smoke is grayish/black that would indicate running rich. Oil gives a bluish color but it could be mistaken for gray.

Next question. Is there any oil in the air cleaner? If there is you have serious blowby issue. Also remove the oil cap with the engine running &  either with your hand or a piece of paper put it over the hole. Make sure you replace the broken PCV valve first so you get an accurate result. There should be slight suction since the engine is under vacuum. If the paper blows easily that indicates excessive blowby and could be an indication of worn rings. I know it may seem odd that it is all four cylinders but anything is possible.
