No Brakes!
« on: June 08, 2013, 03:34:28 AM »
I have a 73 1.6L 4 speed car that has manual front drums.  I have looked all over the place and can not find replacement front drums for this pinto.  This is a numbers matching car and I would hate to convert it.  Are the rear drums the same? Anyone know where I could find replacements? Please help... this is the last thing i need before the car is back on the road.

They appear to be available. I don't have much knowledge about the brakes on a '73 so I will PM you with what I have found. It seems the OEM are a hub & drum and the after market are drum only.

Hi you can get new from Rock Auto Raybestos part # 2660R for $68.89.  I have some 71'S out there but good luck to me to try and find.   Fred   :)

@ Pinto5.0
The only difference I can see in my Ford parts info is that in '73 they went to a 'finned' style drum. Drum braking surface size is the same as are the bearing races/cups.
