is there an automatic tranny with an overdrive?
« on: August 07, 2018, 06:07:24 PM »
Has anyone figured out a way to get an automatic tranny with an overdrive for the 2.3 pinto? I had a C3 in My Cruisin Wagon, but had a drip. Found a C4 in an 80 pinto at the junk yard and put it in the wagon. Have a leak. Neither is the pan. I understand I can get a leak fixed, but--- if I pull it again, I would like an overdrive. I don't really like taching 3500 on the Hwy to work.  OK, I also get--I can slow down. Just wondering if an overdrive can be an option?

The A4LD might be an option.
'72 Runabout - 2.3T, T5, MegaSquirt-II, 8", 5-lugs, big brakes.
'68 Mustang - Built roller 302, Toploader, 9", etc.

Yes you can use a A4LD , have one in mine , if your car has the C3 even better , if so the out put tailshaft are the same , the trans cooler lines are the same , the plug in for the neutral switch are the same ,only you have to cut out the trans mount and move it back 4 1/2 “ inch’s , and cut the drive shaft the same 4 1/2 inches , the A4LD is based off the C3 , look on my photo gallery on this site to see it , works well and a very good upgrade and get get rid of the high speed buzzz ,
