New gauges
« on: June 25, 2013, 08:20:15 PM »
I put a set of direct reading Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauges in my newly acquired 73 Squire today. Can't stand idiot lights. Need to know what's happening. I was pleasantly surprised to see 60 pounds of oil pressure and water temp never over 190 degrees.

Does this sound typical?

My 71 with a 2.3 runs about 175 or so with a 160deg thermostat and about 45 psi oil when warmed up at idle.

Thanks. So sounds like reasonable numbers. Forgot to mention, mine is a 2000 with 95K on the Odo.
