Need parts for rear end rebuild on my '75 Pinto wagon
« on: July 27, 2017, 10:09:37 PM »
Hi all, I was told by my mechanic that the rear end on my '75 Pinto wagon needs a rebuild but he is having trouble finding parts. Can someone advise on a source for rear end parts. I live in Long Beach,CA but I can order parts from out of town. This is kind of urgent as he will have to park the car at his shop until he gets the parts he needs. Can someone help? My phone is (562) 595-1876 and e-mail is SteveWT324@AOL.COM.

Thanks much

Would be best to scrap your rear end and replace it with an 8 inch Mustang II / Pinto rear end. Easy swap with a much better gear set and lots of parts out there.

What size rear end ? If it's the stock rear end got a V-6 it's a 8 inch .If it's a 2.3 it might be an 8 inch or the smaller one. Both are common rear ends so if your guy can not find the parts he is not very informed. Try Rockauto and Summit .

Try  http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_catalog/drivetrain   For rear end parts. Also try ford pinto nos on E-bay.

Hi all, I found a 6 3/4" NOS ring and pinion kit on eBay and delivered it to my mechanic so I guess I'm set. What I would like to find now are the seals/moldings for the "flip out" windows next to the back seat on my '75 Pinto wagon. Apparently these are not made anywhere. Could somebody give me the part number for these seals.

Thanks for your help.
