Title: Need help with a 2.0 carb...
Post by: vanerock on October 25, 2012, 08:34:39 PM
I'm trying to put a holley 390cfm with the offenhauser manifold on my '72 2.0, The problem I have run into is how to mate the factory throttle linkage with the holley carb. Racer Walsh sold a kit years ago for the linkage but if they still make it, it isn't listed online. I am planning on calling them my next day off, but i figured I'd ask and see if anyone else dealt with the same problem and knows an easy way to make it work, or even if anyone knows about somewhere to buy the linkage kit.

If attachments work, they show three different part numbers (01103, 1241, and 8505) for Racer Walsh 4 barrel carb throttle adapters.  These numbers no longer show up on their web site.  If truly no longer available, maybe you could fabricate a bracket based on the #1241 photo.  Have fun.

I used an '87 or so mustang 2.3 FI throttle cable and made an angle bracket off the carb stud to hold it. That cable has a built in return spring and bolts to the firewall like the stocker. It also has enough length for the sideways mount of the carb. I have one of the Offy linkage kits, but didn't use it...my method was simpler.
