Need carburetor help Autolite 5200
« on: August 26, 2023, 08:11:12 PM »
Ok, I stupidly took my carburetor apart without paying enough attention. After I got it cleaned and started to put it back together with new parts from a kit, I noticed a couple of things. What5 are called "high bleed jets" in my manual, that go on top of the main well tubes, are 2 different sizes. I can't find any numbers on them. I don't believe this is the original carburetor. Does anyone know if the larger one should go on the primary venturi side or the secondary venturi side? Also, when I took apart the accelerator pump discharge assembly, I did not find a ball check valve in it. The manual shows one at the very bottom of the hole. The rebuild kit I have has three ball check valves in it, two that measure approx 3.6mm, and one that measure approx 2.9mm. The diagram only shows one ball in the whole carburetor. The kit includes some parts that don't go in this carburetor. Does anyone know if it is the larger or smaller ball check valve that goes below the pump discharge valve that holds the pump discharge nozzle in place. I originally took the carburetor apart because the accelerator pump was not working, then decided to go ahead and do a complete clean and rebuild. I should have been more careful. Thanks for any help. Jerry

OK, thanks a lot. That's where I'll put it, and see how it works. I'm going to use the small check ball first. Jerry
