Hi..

Has anyone seen one of these used in the intake manifold of a 2.0 with holly 2500 carb..

It seems to be a baffle or diverter to divert the airflow from the primary barrel into the runners for cyl 1 and 4

Any ideas about whether it helps

I used one decades ago on a turbo motor because the #1 & #4 were running lean and occasionally burning pistons.  not sure if it helped much.  If I remember correctly the 'diverter' that I used came from a Capri.


Later I found an intake from ford (Europe) that had the 1 & 4 runners directed into the plenum closest to the cylinder head and the 2 & 3 runners into the outside of the plenum.  Big improvement from that one
the only substitute for cubic inches is BOOST!!!

I figured that it was used to equalize the flow somewhat.

I had a 72 pinto and 72 capri and neither of them had the diverter

Also a spare manifold that didnt have it...

I am redesigning the manifold that I built for 2 SU carbs..so Im back to the stock carb and manifold for awhile..
