Title: Moving the rear bumper in ward 1979 bobcat
Post by: jtowndown on April 29, 2014, 07:23:53 PM
Has any one tried moving the bumper to the body and deleting the plastic piece between the bumper and body. I can weld and can make new bumper brackets. I was just wondering how it would look.

You'll see the backside of the bumper assembly, it's not that clean looking. Maybe make a narrower filler/sightshield????

Here's what I plan to do, no welding involved.

on my 78 wagon - because the wagon rear bumper looks like a diving board!! I drilled out the impact absorbers and pressed them in then welded them solid - not the most "safe" thing but if I get rearend the car will be totaled anyways! people in fl don't know how to drive!! 2 speeds down here "on" and "off"!!!

0 and I just cut the filler panel to fit!!

I don't dare. You have no idea how much work I've done sitting on that back valance/bumper on either a Pinto or Focus wagon with the gate up for shade. My outdoor chair if you will LOL. I get so wrapped up in the car work I work right there.
