I purchased an 1952 MG TD replica with a pinto engine year unknown. The carb was shooting gas out of the top of the carb so I purchased a autoline C7337 to replace it and it still won't start. The origional Carb was a Motocraft and the tag reads E10E EA
A 0H12
I cannot find this on any of the Motocraft searches. Any idea if the C7337 is the correct replacement?

What kind of Pinto Motor ? 2.0 EAO or a 2.3 also what year ? E10 A OH12 might be for a 1970 Pinto or a 1980 ? Is the carb a single barrel or a two barrel ? It might be helpful to post a picture. If the old carb was pushing gas out the top the float is bad or not set right. As for not starting have you checked the static timing etc (look to see if it's number 1 on the distributor , the timing marks on the cam and crank pulley line up) it does not have to start to check this.

Thanks, it's a 2.3 and the carb is a 2 barrel. as for the year I am uncertain. Can I find the year from the engine block number?

Ford used several different tags over the years depending on what 'brand name' they were using. Autolite became Motorcraft in '72. I'm sorry I can't be of much more help,but my Ford info only goes to '79. I'm just guessing - but by your info, the carb was built on the 12th of Aug,1980 for a 1981 model car.

About engine block number. If you are refering to a 'casting' number that will only indicate the first year that part was used. It may have been used for several years,but it will give you a starting point. You may want to look for 'casting' numbers on the intake/exhaust manifolds,cyl head,etc for numbers that may be newer in year.

Do you have the original timing gear cover ? On the front part there should be a sticker with some info, On the valve cover there should be a tune up guide. Of course if some one added bling- (Chrome covers ) that info is gone. If it's a 1980 carb that's the damn 6500 two barrel.Half carb/ half computer controlled bastard( at least in CA). What state are you in ? If you want check EBay for a 1974-1976 carb it should be a 5200 Motorcraft/Weber two barrel. After 1976 the carbs started getting more smog ports and controllers= more smog stuff less power.
