Title: Mercury Bobcat replacement carbuerator
Post by: jerseyjay18 on July 02, 2018, 06:30:09 AM
Hello... New member from NJ here. Have a 1977 Mercury Bobcat Villager 2.8  wagon (automatic cologne V6 w/ factory air, California emission ) and seeking advice on what is a  2 barrel carb  for replacing its  "tempermental" original Variable Venturi.

By the way - Owned 2 Pintos back in the 70's = 1972 4 speed/4 cyl and Unique 1974 "Mini-Mark"
Thanks,

Do you have any pictures of the Mini-Mark? I never heard of it.

As for the carburetor, I bought my replacement carb at Pep Boys auto-store a couple of years ago. I am not sure of the make. Even though it was refurbished, I still had trouble starting it. I have been advised to get it jetted for high altitude which I have not done yet.

Btw, there is a 78 Mercury Bobcat Villager for parts if interested. Go to Craigslist, Albuquerque. The car is in Southern Colorado.
