Looking for Wiring and vacuum diagram
« on: January 11, 2013, 01:35:56 AM »
Hello all,
Just trailered home my first Pinto.  A 1975 wagon with 2.8 & c4. I am looking for some help in the way of engine bay wiring diagram and vacuum line diagram. The previous owner was trying to replace the head gaskets but from the looks of it I don't think he had ever worked on a engine before. He removed all the vacuum lines and allot of the engine bay wiring by cutting them out. It also looks like there may have been a direct short in theelectrical system because several of the wiring connectors were melted together. This is a California car so it has all the smog junk on it. I would like to remove as much of this as possible now that it no longer needs to be tested for smog. Hopefully I can free up some HP and clean up the engine bay in the process. On the wiring issue, I think it may be simpler to just rewire the engine bay insted of trying to patch in what has been cut out but I need a wiring diagram. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Bob

Although annoying, ebay is a convenient source.  Enter "1975 Ford Pinto" (including the quotes) in the search bar in the all of ebay motors section.  There is one vendor, Vintage Auto Literature, there now that says it includes the vacuum diagrams.  Before buying, I would verify with a question to be sure.
