Thanks. I don't own a pinto but I am looking for one. So far, all I have found here in mid-Michigan are rust buckets. I am used to fixing rusty cars but don't know how much floorboard rust is safe with the pinto sub-frame. Advice would be appreciated.

I did own a pinto in the early 70's. I bought a new 1973 pinto wagon. I liked it.

My current fun car is a 1985 el camino which is my summertime daily driver. Will be putting it up for the winter soon before that nasty salt starts hitting the road.

Welcome Rust bucket

As long as the rust isn't much more than the floor you should be able to cut out the rusty floor and weld in new sheet metal. If it gets to be too much rust then there is a problem with safety of the car but some rust on the floors is alright to patch up. Seems to be the norm with Pintos to have some rust in some part of the car.
