Quite frustrated with the wiring on this car. Had it running now some short is happening. I thought I had it but burnt regulator. I can fix most things but not wiring. PLEASE Can anyone help me out? I'm restoring this car for our son. Thank you!

hi,  i have the electrical manual for 78 pinto-bobcat.  if you are wanting certain information i can scan it for you if this helps?  not sure about coloured though... it explains the wires as what colour.

If you want a hard copy, the Ford Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshootin g Manual (EVTM) have colored wiring diagrams.  Ebay is a convenient source, try searching on: 1977 Ford Pinto EVTM.  It has been mention here that they may also be available in your local library but I have not tried that.

I'm still stuck on this. How about some one taking photos of their car's wiring?  I need to see the colors of the wiring to the regulator from the fire wall and the wiring from the battery to the alternator.
