glass hatch swap
« on: September 03, 2015, 11:35:39 PM »
I was at the junkyard today. Noticed a few glass hatch cars. I did not look closely, I did not think of a swap. I noticed that a filler is installed at the bottom and the hinges are different. Has anyone done a swap? I did a topic search and found mention of a different gasket. Does it work with the same latch?

I am surprised no one has done this.

There was a local guy a few years back that went from the all glass to a metal hatch.  They interchange but I believe there are holes to plug if going from glass to metal and holes to drill going the other way.  Going to an all glass is nice if your metal hatch is rusty.  Then you only have to paint the trim pieces below.
