Help with hot idle compensator valve

Hello Pinto Owners,
 
I've been away for awhile.  I was driving my 76 Pinto Sedan V6 with Motorcraft 2150 carburetor.  Cruisin' round just long enough for the engine to warm up and then it stopped running. 
 
I have found that the hot idle compensator valve is not working right.  It is either open or closed.  When it is in the carburetor, the car will not start.  When it is completely of the carburetor, the car starts just fine until I try to put the valve back in its place on the carburetor.  So,  If i need a new valve, does anyone know where to find one other than a junker somewhere?  Or, can I reset the valve somehow.  Anybody seen this or have experience with this valve?
