Just a thought for stupid people like me
« on: November 07, 2013, 03:26:30 PM »
When you post for help here and people act like a**holes, it really throws the person seeking help off a LOT. Just a thought, if you don't want noobs (people who never did this stuff before) coming here and asking what appears to be stupid questions to all the geniuses on here, tell newbies that they really aren't welcome using your bandwidth to ask something that might be obvious to others.

Now I understand that the person (picPinto) was just a short fused POS (that's not meant to be Point of Sale) person and just not wanted to provide assistance because I didn't understand the damn chart, in the same way he probably wouldn't under our DMZ for VoIP service and the fault tolerance at work. So if this is more of an elite type of site just say so. Some of us would rather not be where we aren't welcomed.

I thought it was a nice site, but I've been mistaken before.

Dianne,
Please don't judge us all by the actions of only one member.  By and large, this is one of the friendliest and most helpful sites I've ever been a part of.  Sorry you had a bad experience, but they tend to be few and far between.

I can only go with what I've seen to be honest with you. The issue wasn't one of just some wipe asking that way, it was that no one said anything about it. I don't think I'll need to be a charter member at this time. That actually was a charter member BTW...

I can tell you, Dianne, most of the people here have helped me so much and saved me so much time over the time I have been on this site, and I really was saved from doing very stupid things thanks to me asking first, and the help  have received.

Yeah, I felt the same way to be honest until that idiot was being one.

Thanks, I'm doing my 5.0 build with assistance here and not the Mustang II forums :)

Mine is stock but have a friend with 2 Pintos, one a '74 with a 351W rngine and a 1980 Crusin' Wagon with a 302.  I kind of gather you are from Idaho, I spent many good times in Mountain Home and my Uncle lives in Barber, near Boise by the Diversion Dam.

That sounds great! I love Idaho, miss Wyoming to be honest.

But let me know when you come by! Dave is actually in Boise!

No Hoss, I got upset. I never saw those things before and it was Greek to me. It was helpful until I didn't get it. However, I did and when I called I was right. So I don't know what the attitude was.

Thanks!

Nice area, I'm not in Boise though, but not far. I just got upset because I was asking a simple question.

Where is the link BTW for the Charter Membership?

Just an FYI to all concerned, sometimes I can get like that when I do not give consideration to others as I should. It has been a problem elsewhere before. If I do, call me out and I generally rethink it and cave in like I should. If I don't I need to be banned or whatever one does to people like that.

Sometimes I only look at the world through my own VERY NARROW viewpoint and it is often quite different from that of others and I'm not too understanding about it. In short, sometimes I need to be kicked.

Just sayin'.............. ............

Honestly, who cares. I was thrown back is all. We all get pissed, but getting pissed at someone who never saw those charts before is just moronic. I guess I could chalk it up to something like the person was an idiot, but the hate keeps me warm at night ahahah Just kidding, that's from Red Dawn.

Dianne, I've certainly been in your shoes here. I'm sorry you had the negative experiences here too. The good news is most of us are nice and very helpful... but there are a few who don't think I know anything- even when I see it/know it with my own eyes and experience (see my thread on my cars not starting ((gas issue)) where I was referred to as pal in a rude manner).  Politics seem to tinge opinions and advice, too. Sadly the negative stuff keeps me away from the site that celebrates my favorite car in the whole world.  Stay strong.  :)
