knocking
« on: April 12, 2013, 05:36:19 PM »
So my battery died, so I push started it, and after it started , it was knocking, I could hear ever lifter taping and huge clouds of blue and white smoke pouring out of the exhaust. I got mad and drove it like I was in NASCAR  like 9000 rpms that sounded horribly. Now it doesn't smoke knock or tap, what was it? And now it seems like it has more power than ever, I'm confused

So , do not knock your luck...Do not question the Pinto God's or you will be walking..... If you "pushed it " you might have just cleaned up the engine and cleared it up...But again do not question your good fortune or you may be walking....Do not forget to check the oil ,water etc......The timing belt may have jumped when you push started the car and it might have just settled in when you drove it hard..The belt has a self adjuster (limited) so you might have gotten lucky........
