Installing intake manifold on 2000CC engine
« on: February 14, 2012, 12:54:49 PM »
My intake manifold is apparently leaking at the gasket so I bought a new gasket and
now need to install it. Besides cleaning the mating serfices should I use any kind
of gasket sealer? Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

i've never used a gasket sealer on the intake or exhaust i have on everything else where you have a liquid going though it or in it helps seal any leaks your intake and exhaust are air no liquids

If the head and manifold surfaces  are both flat then no sealer. If worried about a coolant leak then a little silicone around the center hole.

I read somewhere to put never seize on them?? Said it helps in sealing it and also it doesn't tear the gasket up if you take it apart later.
