Installing front seat belts in a '72?
« on: April 25, 2014, 07:17:27 PM »
I'm in the process of getting my '72 totally road-ready and about the only thing left to do  is install seat belts. (they were all in a box that came with the car)

I have several bits to choose from, but I'm not sure how they get installed. Here's a photo:

Can anyone help me with which ones go where?
'72 Runabout - 2.3T, T5, MegaSquirt-II, 8", 5-lugs, big brakes.
'68 Mustang - Built roller 302, Toploader, 9", etc.

The two longs ones on the roof, the retractable ones go in on the floor to your left and the short ones on your right.
Vehicles:

- 1972 Plymouth Duster (To be a Pro Street)
- 1973 Ford Pinto wagon (registered ride 195)
- 1976 Mustang II mini-stock
- 1978 Mustang King Cobra II
- 1979 Ford Pinto Runabout
- 1986 Chevy K5 Blazer
- 1997 Suzuki Marauder

But there are two different retractable belts (neither look like they fit by the doors) and two different buckle belts. ???

The little black ones are old, have Torx bolts attached, and original Ford tags stitched on. I'm guessing they attach to the tunnel similarly to the belts in my '68 Mustang...

Looking more closely, the black ones look correct and the green not.
