Yeah, I was doing that on my 77 before I got tired of being embarrassed by having to do that. So I took wiring from an old Pinto harness starter circuit so it was the right gauge. Ran it from the button and went through the firewall grommet to the "S" terminal, ran the other to a hot wire in the car. Worked perfect, especially on rainy days when I didn't want to be outside the car to start it.
