Title: If you have gone Ford EFI, where did you mount the computer?

Stock, not an aftermarket kit.

Going to use my 89 Mustang 2.3L with EFI. On the Mustang the computer goes behind the passenger kick panel.
Just wondering (haven't taken it off the Mustang yet) if it will fit there?

I'm not against having to mount it in the rear of the car somewhere, just not sure how critical the harness length is on these things. Adding the length is easy, but on some things adding a couple feet or more of wire can cause problems.

No need to reinvent the wheel.  Just put it where Ford did, at the passenger kick panel.  I'd assume all the Fox bodies are similar and I don't think I changed anything wire length wise. On the donor Turbo Coupe there are some foil wrapped wires. Also the igniton coil wires went down the passenger side of the engine compartmernt, across the radiator cradle and then back to the coil/ Maybe they did it for isolation?


 I also used the factory firewall grommets that require oval or triangulated holes. But one simply drills the holes and then cuts the metal between them to get the shape.

Great idea for using the grommets, I hadn't thought that far along yet.

On my 77 Cruizin Wagon, I mounted the same way as pictures show.
