Title: Idle adjustment screw.

1972 Wagon, 2000cc, 2V.   I had a rebuilt carb installed and just now found out that the "idle adjustment screw" is missing.
It goes into the idle cam.  There is also a little spring that keeps it from turning once adjusted.  (missing also.)

Does anyone know what the size, thread etc. for this screw is??  Other option is to see of a carb. rebuilder would have one.  Anyone?  Bueller? Thanks guys, jt

John,
If you are talking about the screw that sits against the throttle lever to adjust idle speed, I have one with the spring that is on a busted carb that came off of my '73.  If you can send a picture of where it goes, I can see if it is in the  spot I am thinking.  If you can't send a picture and think it is the one you need, let me know.  My e-mail is Villella@fordpinto.com  I can send what I have to you at no charge.  On another note, maybe you can answer a question I have.  I just bought a 4 barrel intake that has been modified so you cannot run the heater hose through it.  Do you know of anyway I can reroute the hose coming from the heater core back into the engine without going through the intake?  Any info would help.

Yes, that is the screw and spring that I need.  My address is John Turner, 76 Bogel Road, East Haddam, CT.  06423, include your return address in the envelope when you send it to me and I'll drop $5 in the mail to you for your trouble.  On the heater rerout, If it were me, I'd skip the intake manifold altogether, get a premeasured fresh piece of heater hose and hook it in to the sources on the heater core and then the block.  I think that the only reason it connects to the carburetor in the first place is to actuate the automatic choke via the water temperature.  (kind of a low tech approach.)  Good Luck and Thanks a ton for sending the screw and spring to me.  jt
