I have a dilemma.
« on: December 03, 2012, 09:52:17 PM »
i have a dilemma. this is the interior of my pro-street. and i been wandering what it will look better to live it like this or to put carpet down, in it. i know this may be stupid but i been wandering for a long time if i should live it this way.

If ford pintos are not fast then why chevy's have to use there parts to make them fast?

It depends on how you use the car.  If you still race the car, leave it as is so the inspectors can see how it is put together and there the wires go.

If it is going to be driven on the street ONLY, then make it as comfortable as you want.

I retired my former 1000 HP 9 second quarter mile Blown 1972 Pinto from racing and gave it a second life on the street for car shows and cruise nights.  It has a full interior for my comfort.

I'm going to tub my '73 & I plan to run carpet. Some interior panels may be aluminum but if I decide to run a sound system I'll Dynamat everything to keep the tin can feeling away. Mine will see very limited track time though.

Dick. fist of all let me say grate car.
I will actually still race the car. it will probably race more than been driving around. im sure you know how expensive c16 can be. thanks for the tip.

John i never really thought of that, good idea thanks

do any of you guys know how hard it will be to modify a dash to fit my car? and do you guys think is worth it or should i just live it with the aluminum dash?

once again than you guys

C... If you built that dash, I would just add a few more pieces to hold a speedo and such and call it good.. I like the aluminum look for sure.

Heck you have enough dash already to put you a bobbing head dog on it or maybe a compass.. airfreshener?? ;D ;D :o

hahahha. well i dont have a speedo in it because the trans. dont let me plug one in. so i use my phone as a speedo, it actually clips to the center of my steering wheel.

i got one of thous digital dash from autometer on my scca pinto and i love it, they actually have a wheel speed sensor but i think is to expensive just to have for a speedo. thats why i just use my phone.

C- I think from what i can see of your ''A'' bars you could do what i did and notch a factory dash, it's the door ""X"" bar that might make it a bit tricky. I went threw some extra work to have my ''A'' bars bent to go up to the windshield so I could use my dash, plan to have my cockpit a lot like Dick's ''KILLER'' ride. I will take a few pic's of my dash and post them in my gallery to look at.  From what I can see to carpet the car now would be quite a chore, but with a little time and effort it could be done. Ether way that's a very clean and well done hot rod!  Bud

cabecho, i put a few pictures of my dash in my gallery. as i said earlier you have door bars to contend with, the way i cut the slots in the dash it goes in as if it a regular install sort of. Bud
