I'm building a kit car with 76 Pinto engine, 2.3 fitted to a t5 out of a turbo t-bird. The engine is pretty much bone stock as far as I know. I got it from a guy, who got it from a guy...
The carb is a 5200 with water choke.
It's to the point of dropping the body onto the rolling chassis, except:
Yesterday I got the engine running continuously, for the first time, and surprised myself to no end.
but there are issues:
where does the electrical lead out of the choke connect?
where does the electrical lead out at the throttle stop connect?
there's a fitting at the top which is plugged with a vacuum line cap - I have no idea what's supposed to be there, but I'm pretty sure
it's not supposed to be capped off. any help?
The engine starts with no trouble, but will not continue to run, unless the air supply is nearly choked off.
I can keep it running only by pumping the accelerator, by shooting starting into the primary, or by manually closing the butterfly while working the throttle
suggestions?
