Help for a Stampeder... please!
« on: May 03, 2012, 10:16:44 PM »
Help! Jeff Simmons here on FordPinto needs our help. He's leaving in less than 2 weeks for the stampede and needs a 1979 Bumper end cap for the front passenger side. He has an 1980 but sometime in it's life someone swapped 1979 bumpers on it. I had a 1980 and sent it to him today but then he posted a picture of his shiny blue Pinto and I noticed right away it had 1979 end caps.

again he needs the passenger side and shipped asap for the Stampede, can anybody help out?

see pics below

Alrighty, I'll head out there Sunday and see if the car is still there, if so I will pick up the end caps and get ahold of Jeff to ship them out express!

Many Thanks Dave, Jeff will appreciate it, he really only needs the passenger side but did mention his are not in perfect condition so maybe the driver would be better than what he already has and as you know always good to have spares.

Dave, did you by any chance get a chance to hit that junk yard this weekend?

ARGH! I just got home from a date with the wife, catching up on my Pinto stuff, and it just popped into my head! GRR! I totally spaced it on Sunday, and today I had a loan issue I had to take care of and some car issues.

I am going to try and get out there sometime this week, but if someone else can get him what he needs sooner it would be great!

I got there and had a flash back of the last time I saw the car, I thought the car may have had the front bumper removed. Sure enough, all that was left was the stone deflector! Darn, I wish I had remembered that sooner! :(

bummer Dave, looks like this will be a hard "wish item" to find, maybe if the 79's are unavailable we could find a complete set of 80's? his car is after all an 80 and the 79s are not the right ones, just thought it might be easier to find the one vs a set of 4.

I sent him an 80 passenger front, haven't pulled the driver side but know it looks good, mounting is the only worry. I know I don't have any good rears, up here in rust country they are one of the first things to rust away. I already have one "glued" on because the mounts are gone.

Hope it helps.  Green Sales shows having two of the right hand ends - D9FZ17A900A  & one left hand D9FZ17A901A  These are listed for a '79. I'm unable to look up parts for a '80.
