Title: Hello again
Post by: 89gted on March 03, 2014, 08:50:49 PM
I originally registered with the club about 10 years ago.  I would occasionally check in to read what was going on, but I don't think I ever posted.  I just signed in today to update my email & profile, and now I'm being called a new member lol.  I have had my 76 wagon since 92.  It was a daily driver until 2000 when the rear main seal went out.  I pulled the engine & 4sp out & got the engine machined & new parts for a rebuild.  I got a 5sp to put behind it, and that's all the further it went.  The engine is still waiting to be put back together, and the wagon has just set there for 14 years.  Before I could start rebuilding the engine, I decided that it wasn't going to go back together with the stock engine.  So, for all these years, I've been trying to figure out just what combination I wanted for a street/show machine.  I have settled on the ford 3.7l v6 & 6sp.  It probably won't happen for a couple years because I'm rebuilding my 88 t-bird turbo coupe at this time, but I think that combination would be great in my pinto wagon.  I have been looking through some post here today, and notice some other people have the same idea.  I'm kind of hoping that someone has already started on this project, or will shortly, and provide some progress reports.  My initial thought is to buy a totaled complete mustang with this drivetrain to make the swap easier.  Anyway, glad to be here, and look forward to spending more time with you.

I spent a couple years poking around here before I ever bothered to create an account myself. I just never had anything to say.
