Head gasket question
« on: October 14, 2013, 10:26:14 AM »
I have a cylinder head for a 2300 that has been milled about .130 which is too much compression ratio, about 11-1. Has any body used  Fel-Pro's head saver shim? It is .20 thick and should lower it about 1/2 pt. Can you use more than one of these?

iv`e used double head gaskets before to lower compression on an engine i built .. no problems .. GM did it in the early 60`s to some 409 engines from the factory .. they built the engines with high compression but added an extra gasket to bring it down a bit for stock class rules then the owner simply pulled out one gasket and went racing ...or something like that .. yes double up on felpro gaskets and dont worry ...
