I've been doing lots of searching here and the internet in general, but other than hearing the "it won't work without lots of work" type comments I haven't found anything that has been done to make one fit.

351W engine.

If I have to drastically modify the tunnel or firewall so be it, but I am hoping to get some direction before I start. The car is already drastically modified so a little more won't hurt anything but my wallet.  ::)

Thanks,
Russ

Update.
I am going to go manual, it's what I really want. So what if it takes me another month or two.
Thanks,

A good built C4 will work , even if the 351 pulls over500 HP it will live , and much cheaper in the long run , one you can use the stock shifter if you like , it fits the tunnel , it’s also the same gear ratio as the heavy c6 , standard is nice also , T5 are kind of
cheep but almost the same money , well at least where I live ,

Thanks.
I was using the C6 as that is what I have, came with the engine.
But I am going for broke (literally) and putting a manual in.
Already have a steel MII sized bellhousing on order.
