Which car goes?
« on: March 07, 2014, 08:26:11 PM »
I have 4 cars and one has to go according to my landlord and the rules in my sub-division. I love all my cars so out of these which you would lose? I don't know how to a poll on here, so give me your opinion :-) I know most of you will say something other than the Pinto, but out of the 4 I dunno...

1) 1973 Ford Pinto Wagon (ready for paint)
2) 1970 Ford Galaxy 500 (new interior and almost ready for paint)
3) 1978 Ford Mustang King Cobra II (not going LOL)
4) 1970 Ford Maverick (under restoration, but all mechanicals rebuilt top and bottom)

This is tough, I don't want to move, so this is the list.

Vehicles:

- 1972 Plymouth Duster (To be a Pro Street)
- 1973 Ford Pinto wagon (registered ride 195)
- 1976 Mustang II mini-stock
- 1978 Mustang King Cobra II
- 1979 Ford Pinto Runabout
- 1986 Chevy K5 Blazer
- 1997 Suzuki Marauder

I'd have to agree. Id have to say the Maverick as well. Can you rent a storage unit and store it there?

I wouldn't mind having the maverick. I have a 347 and a C4 that would fit that car just fine ;)

I just had the original engine (200ci) and the trans redone. The bottom of the car has everything replaced and floor boards and joints and all new rubber, sanded all the rust down and painted. The interior and outside only have to be done. And now I'm using lacquer epoxy primer on it so I can drive it sometime. It has 3 on the tree and a bench seat! I love 3 on the tree.

I think I'll look at some storage units, but I think those things are expensive.

I would lose the Galaxie unless there is sentimental value.

I love the Galaxie just because it's got that big float ride and looks pretty cool to me. I have the interior new looking and shocks and need some tires now and a paint job which won't take much at all. It just rides real nice and a big bench seat! I dunno...

Tough call... I guess you'll just have to follow your heart.  If it were me, I would not give up a running car for one that's not.  I'd find a storage facility for the Mustang II.

The Mustang II is getting stripped right now next to the Maverick. The engine is back from the machine shop now and will be getting ready to be rebuilt!

Each one of your cars is a once in a life time deal. I would do whatever it
takes to keep them all. But, that being said, I really like all the cars you have.
I certainly wouldn't give up the cars that currently run. But I wouldn't let
the Mav or the King get away either. Catch 22!!!!!! good luck with whatever
you do. I'm glad I don't have to decide.

I'm going to paint the Pinto in 2 weeks or so if the weather stays warm at least at 60 here or 55. Heating the garage. That will tell me what I'm doing I guess after I see it painted. The Galaxie is a great ride, the King my track car and fun car, the Maverick is just a great looking car. If one goes, I'm sorry to say, it might be the Pinto right now. I'm visiting with the landlady today and seeing if I can keep all 4. The inside of the Pinto just needs seats recovered (only $300.00 with me providing the material), might redo the headliner also. But the Pinto may be the car if I don't have an alternative. It's the most uncomfortable of all of the cars really for someone at 6' 1" so if one goes it would be that one.

Well, this Pinto is going up for sale. It's going because I don't want to fight the sub-division but the money can go into the other 3 cars. I'm sorry to say bye to it, but it's going :(

Well, it might help to remember, as "real" mustang owners say. The Mustang II is nothing more than a glorified Pinto.
So youre not really leaving.
I always remind them that their 66 mustang is closer to a falcon than my King is to a Pinto.
Good luck with the sale, hope you find a good home for it.

LOL I don't do bowties - EVER! LOL

I think my mechanic wants it. We're gonna probably do some swapping for finishing the 302 for the Mustang and some stuff left on the Maverick. Oh, and the Galaxie LOL I'll have 3 pretty darn perfect cars mechanically I guess, and that's worth it! He's the best mechanic I ever met and a really nice guy!
