Throttle linkage help
« on: July 21, 2012, 05:39:11 PM »
Was going to build my own & thought before I do, maybe what I want is already made ?

First, the cable. Too short. I measured from the oval bracket that bolts to the fire wall to the bracket that would bolt to the throttle bracket. 9"

I measured a cable from a 72 Pinto (my parts car) & it looks like mine was swapped out, as it measures 19 & 3/4" (black plastic part + crimps).

I need one that is about 12"- 14" .

Next is the metal bracket the cable bolts to.

Pictures tell....

I do not have a problem making what I need for the intake bracket.....ju st thought why make one when one is likely made ?

Id almost bet a v8 mustang or 87-88 thunderbird that had a v8 throttle linkage would work for you. I knoe for sure the thunderbird ones will bolt right in too cause I have a t-bird 2.3 one in my bobcat.
1978 Mercury Bobcat 2.3t swapped.Always needs more parts!
