fuel tank
« on: February 16, 2017, 05:49:08 PM »
I Pulled the tank on my 80 Cruising wagon and found pin holes and a small crack on the top flat part. I ordered a new
Spectra Premium F81A Fuel Tank for Ford Mustang/Pinto this is suppose to fit a 77-80 pinto.  Well no way in hell does it fit.
Attached are pictures of the new and old tank. I tried to install the new tank with the hump up . Any ideas what the new tank fits?  I cant return it because I painted it befor checking the fit (stupid me )

Thanks
Joe

Used the f81a tank in my 77 sedan and it was a perfect fit. I believe the wagon tanks are different- somewhat larger

Wagon tanks are not the same. Not reproduced to the best of my knowledge.

Joe,
You should be able to sell it here and get some money back.
