First clean all around the tube with a scotch pad lubed with some transmission fluid , wipe clean , apply more oil around the tube and seal , remove the screws at the gas cap flange , at the bottom of tube rock the tube back and forth and push in , oil on tube will help tube slide in , Turn tube forward and down pull tube out , if tube flange is on the outside of fender the recall has not been done , make sure tank is empty before you pull tube out , when you put it back together grease seal up and tube also , after your finished wipe off extra grease ,

Got the tank out, The top of the tank is rusted and has some small holes in it.

Easy to fix small pin holes on top or bottom with solder. Can be done very easy with a soldering iron. What ever finish Ford put on the tanks, it will solder very well.
Its better to be a has-been, than a never was.

Thanks,
After further inspection there are some Hugh cracks in it also. Also there was a pad on top of the tank that's all rotted, Can this be replace with a rubber pad?

Thanks
Joe
